Callback and how it works:
The callback or call-back services are available for users from anywhere in the world. All you need is a touch tone phone and a
callback account on the IDN network. Callback is used for clients who are making calls from any international destination
to any other international destination. Clients outside of UK regularly use this product. Callback is particularly suitable to
countries where there are no available direct access numbers to UK for direct calling. You need to have a touch-tone phone in
order to use this service.
TYPES OF CALLBACK SERVICES:
Type 1: DDI callback
Type 2: Internet callback
Type 3: CLI callback
Type 4: CLI Callback calling card
Type 5: Callback with pin request (suitable for calling cards)
Type 6: SMS callback
DDI callback: The mechanism of a DDI callback involves the user calling a pre-allocated UK/US telephone number (often referred
to as a DDI number), and then receiving a callback call on their registered callback number. Once the user receives the callback call,
they would then pick up the phone and are able to make any number of consecutive outbound calls.
Internet callback: Here it is the same mechanism as DDI callback, but this time customer logs onto our web site or
reseller's website, enters their account and PIN for verification, and then trigger the callback by clicking on the respective DDI.
For this service an individual DDI is allocated for each customer, hence, the cost of £10($18.50) per annum per DDI or £1($1.80) per
month per DDI.
CLI callback: This service is intended for use in countries where CLI (Caller ID) is available through the PTT.
The service uses two DDI numbers, one for CLI self-registration and the other for CLI callback request. Customer dials the first DDI,
enters their account number and registers their CLI. On dialing the second DDI to trigger the callback to the registered CLI, customer
is then allowed to make any number of consecutive outbound calls. The CLI registration needs to be done once, after which customer
continues to use that particular account with the registered CLI number.
The CLI callback system should not be used from payphones or offices, as there, could be multiple users of the same telephone.
CLI Callback calling card: This product is intended for use in countries where there is no free-phone access available
from the PTT. This product can be sold as a calling card. The service involves the user dialing a DDI, getting an engaged tone and
then hanging up. The system will then call back on the CLI received, asks for the PIN number and then allows customer to make any
number of consecutive outbound calls.
Callback with pin request: This product is similar to above and can be sold as a prepaid calling card service. The
service involves the user dialing a common DDI, the voice prompt will request for the PIN number and the required callback number,
after which they put the phone down. On receipt of the callback, they can then make any number of consecutive outbound calls.
With this service, the customer pays the local PTT for the time spent entering their PIN and Callback number (approximately 1 minute).
SMS Callback: Any of the above products can also be used with an SMS callback
trigger. An SMS text message is sent from the user's mobile telephone, which initiates the callback
process.
